The Reinecke Youth Chamber Music Competition and Fellowship Program
Michael Repper, Founder and Director
The Reinecke Youth Chamber Music Competition and Fellowship Program is an unparalleled opportunity for aspiring young musicians to become immersed in the field of chamber music, and to have the opportunity to be mentored by professional musicians. Two to three individuals are selected as fellows each year (funding permitted), and these fellows are paired with professional mentors in the Mid-Atlantic Region to be coached throughout the Winter and Spring. The culmination of the program is a public concert during the CMSMD season, where each Fellow performs a solo piece and then join to perform a chamber music work (chosen in collaboration between the fellows, mentors, and private teachers of winning students).
Fellowships will be awarded, and the competition is open to ALL instrumentalists aged 12-18 who will not matriculate into college or conservatory before the Fall following the competition.
The Fellowship concert takes place in Lutherville, Maryland in the Spring and is professionally recorded. At the time of this concert each Fellow is presented with a $1000 award to further his/her musical studies.
